Coverage Options
Understanding your coverage options helps you build a policy that protects what matters — without paying for what you don't need.
Liability Insurance
Every vehicle on your multi-car policy must carry at least your state's minimum liability limits. Bodily-injury minimums range from $15,000 to $50,000 per person across states; property-damage minimums range from $5,000 to $50,000.
Full Coverage Car Insurance
Adds collision and comprehensive to liability. One vehicle on your policy can carry full coverage while another carries liability only — the multi-car discount applies to the whole policy regardless of per-vehicle coverage levels.
Uninsured Motorist Coverage
Required in 22 states, optional in the rest. Covers you when another driver causes an accident and carries no insurance or insufficient limits. Each vehicle on your multi-car policy can carry this coverage or decline it where optional.
Multi-Car Policy Structure
Two or more vehicles share one policy number, one renewal date, and one set of discounts. The multi-car discount typically requires all vehicles at the same garaging address; the discount amount varies by carrier and state.
